The Best Father's Day Gifts For Dad - Give The Gift Of Time

Physical gifts for dad certainly have their place, and are fun to give and receive. However, if you want to do something a bit different and more meaningful on Father's Day, why not vow to spend more time with your dad instead? If you're trying to come up with things to do then here are 8 ways to spend time with your dad in new, fun ways.

1) Have A Movie Night

Just about everyone loves watching movies, so why not buy some DVDs as your gifts for dad this Father's Day? The DVDs themselves aren't the main gift though! The main gift is to create the perfect movie set up - get the popcorn ready, set aside an evening where you're both free, and enjoy each other's company.

2) Clean His Car

This gift may not be about the two of you spending time together, but it still means giving him your valuable time. Tell him that you're going to clean his car, inside and out, and that you'll leave it immaculately clean.  He'll certainly appreciate the gesture!

3) Watch Sports

If your dad is into sports then try to secure tickets so you can watch a game together. If you're not into the sport yourself, you'll probably still enjoy the atmosphere and the time you spend with your dad. This isn't something you do every day, which makes it an extra special gift.

4) Go To A Concert

In the same vein as the idea above, the two of you could attend a concert together after you buy tickets as your gifts for dad and use them together. Even if you can't get tickets for his favorite band, the two of you could see some upcoming artists in the local area. It's a new experience and one that's better shared with a loved one!

5) Have A Man's Night In

If you're a guy then why not arrange a special father and son evening? This isn't about getting emotional, it's about all things manly! That means getting in plenty of beer, ordering a pizza, watching sports on TV or playing games like poker. There's nothing like a bit of man time away from everyone else to help you relax!

6) Do Some Odd Jobs For Him

Does your dad have something that needs doing around the house? Spending some time to fix up small things can make a big difference. Go around with him and ask him what needs doing. He'll appreciate the effort you're going to!

7) Go Fishing/Camping

What better way to bond with your dad than to spend some time with nature! Set aside a weekend for a camping or fishing trip in the not too distant future and make it a Father's Day that he'll always remember.

8) Ask Him What He Wants To Do

You don't have to come up with all of the ideas. Have a chat with him before Father's Day arrives and let him know that, instead of buying expensive gifts, you'd rather spend some quality time with him. In place of traditional gifts for dad, the two of you can come up with something he really likes the sound of.
